Care Instructions

  • Cleaning:
    • Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior of the device. Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive materials, or solvents that could damage the surface or internal components.
    • Clean the mouthpiece and sampling accessories with warm, soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Ensure they are completely dry before reattaching or storing.
  • Calibration:
    • Perform a one-point calibration periodically as instructed in the user manual to maintain accuracy.
    • Follow manufacturer guidelines for calibration frequency, typically after a set number of uses or at scheduled intervals.
  • Battery Maintenance:
    • Replace the two AA batteries when the device indicates low power or after extended periods of use (approximately 1,000 tests).
    • Remove batteries if the device will be stored for an extended period to prevent leakage or corrosion.
  • Storage:
    • Store the Alco-Sensor FST in its provided carrying case to protect it from dust, impact, and environmental exposure.
    • Keep the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures (optimal storage: 10°C–30°C / 50°F–86°F).
  • Inspection:
    • Regularly inspect the device for visible wear or damage, particularly the sensor area and display screen.
    • Check the integrity of the mouthpieces and accessories, replacing any items that show signs of wear or damage.
  • Avoid Moisture:
    • Ensure the device does not come into direct contact with water or other liquids, which may damage the internal components.
    • If the device is accidentally exposed to moisture, remove the batteries immediately and allow the unit to dry thoroughly before reuse.
  • Service & Support:
    • For professional servicing or repairs, contact Intoximeters or an authorized service provider to ensure proper handling and warranty coverage.
    • Refer to the user manual or training materials for additional troubleshooting tips and maintenance instructions.

Note: The accuracy of any breath alcohol-testing instrument should be checked periodically. This is accomplished by running a standard with a known alcohol concentration through the instrument's sampling system and verifying that the result is within an acceptable tolerance range of the expected value of the standard.
