Since the dawn of time, man has had a burning desire to know exactly where he's standing at any given time.
Wise folk once depended on sights, smells and sounds. They learned to read guideposts like the sun, moon and stars, much as we read books and maps, to keep themselves safe from danger or guide themselves home from a journey. Explorers and adventurers used sextants and compasses to find routes to new lands and wealth.
We've come a long way, but one thing hasn't changed. We still have a burning desire to know where we are at any given time.
We no longer depend on natural signs and guideposts. But thanks to today's high-tech gurus we don't have to! Nowadays, when we want to find out where we are, we turn to the Global Positioning System (GPS).
